Excellent food! We're a large party of 20 and every item ordered was delicious. Some enjoyed the fish fry, others the rack of ribs, seafood and sandwiches. Fabulous food, fabulous service and a gorgeous view of Lake Mary!

On Saturday night around 7:30 my husband and I went in to have dinner. There was no one waiting and there were tables in the bar and the restaurant available. When we told the hostess there was 2 of us she told us it was a 30 minute wait REALLY! When we asked why, we were told they were short staffed. Needless to say we left and went elsewhere, had a great meal, and now we probably won't be back. We keep trying to make this neighborhood restaurant a success, but every time there is another disappointment.

Went in with a large party. Waiter came to take the order. Somebody else served the plates. We had to get drinks from the bar because nobody bothered themselves to come back to the table. We'll done burgers were bleeding and sent back. Fish fry was cold and sent back. When they came back they were dry as they just simply cut the burgers in half and cooked the them on their sides. Grille marks on the inside of the burger. Waiter came back once. Gave us desserts instead of admitting the meals were bad. No refund. Last time we came here it was ok but unfortunately it's bad more often than not. Won't come back, will tell my friends to stop coming. Good times. Update: been here 2 hours. We've been sitting here staring at a dirty table for 40 minutes waiting for our check so we can get out of here. Update #2: table behind us was just informed after waiting over an hour the kitchen lost their ticket.

I went in to have a beer and watch the NCAA tourney. Very beautiful views from any where in the building. Sits right on one of The Twin Lakes. Friendly, competent bar tenders, good service, cold beer. I had heard there was a new Chef and although I was not hungry, the couple sitting next to me was complimenting the soup. I ordered the clam chowder and was blown away. Best chowda eva! The rich taste of the stock used made your taste buds jump. I am guessing some sort of crab infusion. So I looked around at the immense slabs of juicy looking prime rib being served and immediately made a mental note to come back on a Saturday night for the same. Stay tuned!

I came here with a group of girlfriends and was very happy that we visited Dock Hopper's during our "eat-our-way-around-Twin Lakes" tour. I chose this place because Yelp said there is a great view by the lake - and indeed there was! We came here for lunch on a Saturday on a clear, sunny day. Our group of six had a great view of Lake Mary at a round table in their dining room. Vintage photos of water skiers covered their walls and actual water skis lined their doors. I think the view of the lake would be even prettier at sunset... but we had other fish to fry that evening (almost quite literally) haha. Dock Hoppers gets 4 stars overall. They are an official Blackhawks bar. We were warmly greeted by the host/staff, immediately led to our table and given a huge tin of popcorn, generously dusted with bacon cheddar cheese powder. We passed that around enthusiastically. They have amazing (bomb-dot-com) Buffalo wings, on par with if not better than one of my favorites in Chicago: Jake Melnick's. Anyways the wings were crispy, hot and freshly fried. Their sauce was the perfect peppery tang & spice. If I were to rate those wings alone, it would get five stars. Really, their wings are that good! I don't know what Wisconsin-er's add to their wings. I ordered a portobello burger called "Sit n'Port Side" with sauteed sweet bell peppers, pesto mayo, arugula and provolone cheese on a brioche bun ($10.95) that comes with your choice of parmesan fries, coleslaw or a cup of soup. Some of my friends ordered wedge salads, burgers and the day that we went, they were all out of perch. The manager came by and apologized, explaining that their Friday Fish Fry (which is HUGE in this area) had depleted their supply. Oh well, we forged on. As for drinks, my friend ordered a mojito and she exclaimed that the prices were too good to be true. At $6/7 per cocktail, this was flash-sale prices for drinks compared to the city. The whole weekend, our jaws kept dropping at the very reasonable prices (and tax rate) for everything in Twin Lakes. I spied a spiked Basil Lemonade on their drink menu and asked if I could just get a non-alcoholic version. Our server brought over the bartender who apologized and said they were out of basil, since they grow their own basil on the premises. Basil wasn't in season. "Would you just like a lemonade?" Nah, I'll get an iced tea, but "then what's in your TOMATO BASIL soup that two of us just ordered?" I joked. Is it just tomato soup? And then I also suspiciously eyeballed my friend's mojito with a crooked brow. Anyway, our server did a great job. He told us he was new but he was nice enough to give us all separate checks. To sum it up: order items with basil when their basil is in season, sit by the windows for an amazing view and do order their wings!

Very friendly place. Sat at the bar for the Blackhawks game. They have 7 large flat screens. Bartenders are excellent. The food was really good. Mostly Homemade. So happy to see this awesome location is finally being managed properly

Fantastic food! I got the perch sandwich, the family got a burger and a chicken wrap, tomato basil soup! All was fantastic and the the ambiance is fantastic on the lake!!!! Very good!

Started with wings that were awesome. Not the same old out of the box that to many places around the area serve. Had the fish dinner, more food than I could finish. 3 huge pieces of cod, potato pancake, fresh cole slaw, spiced apples and corn fritters. WOW!

Wife and I stopped in for the fish fry on Friday night. The location on the lakeside and views of the lake are great. The inside is cute and comfortable. This was previously a Restaurant Impossible redo on TV. Hostess and waitress were friendly. I should have departed at that point. We ordered the "Friday special fish fry" and a couple drinks. An hour and a half later we still had NO FOOD. Oh they had a few excuses when I asked for my check and told them I was leaving. None of the excuses were legitimate reasons for this. There were only 5 tables occupied in the two dining rooms and one of the excuses was "we are busy". Another excuse was "kitchen keeps losing tickets", and even another was "our general manager walked out on us today". Not once did they say "please give me 10 minutes to get your food out and make this right". It would only have taken 5-10 minutes to make our meals. However the couple of other nearby tables had the same problems. Table next to us was a nice couple, as we had plenty of time to visit, expressed that he had to just return his ribs as they were beyond done and couldn't wait another hour and a half for dinner. The only suggestion I have for this establishment and its management is to close and start over.

Very pleased to see that the old owners FINALLY gave up the ghost and this great location is now Dock Hoppers. Very attentive wait staff and reasonable prices. I had the Chicken Milano sandwich which was absolute heaven and the cole slaw was fresh and delicious. My friend had the grilled cheese and the homemade fries and she said they were excellent. The cheddar bacon popcorn was such a welcome change to have with our martinis, which were VERY reasonably priced. My lemon drop martini was $6!!!! Her Key Lime martini ($7) was not as big of a hit with her taste-wise. My only suggestion would be to possibly add some roll-down outdoor shades in certain areas of the patio so when the sun is setting, you can choose your table accordingly. You can no longer smoke on the patio but they allow you to do so down the stairs closer to the water. Okay, we get it!!! Such wonderful food, told my husband he and I had to go back and try more dishes. We loved the limited menu, food is always so much better when there aren't 5,000 dishes to be cooked! Kudos to the chef for preparing such delicious food!!!!!

Just left and had the best fish fry of my life. Not ordinary, bar fishfry, tender fish, potato latke, apple compote with sage, corn fritters and amazing home made tartar. Better than anything I have ever had . Do not miss this one. Someone said limited menu. Rather have outstanding food than a large menu. Bigger is not always better.

Location has always been great. They take reservations, which is a must for us - we don't take much to just showing up and taking our chances on a long line. Staff is friendly, motivated and seem to be really invested in the success of the enterprise. Service is attentive and fast. Drink selection good. Menu interesting, with some quirky combinations that work out well. Food is thoughtful and well-presented. We will be back.

If you can't find something you want to eat here you must be blind! The food is awesome and I always have a hard time choosing what exactly I want. This is a definite SUMMER spot, but it's great they stay open in the winter too. One of the only official Blackhawks bars I know of in WI! =)

Awesome. Great staff, food and drink. I'll be back for sure

We went to Dock Hoppers for a Valentine's Dinner last night. We ordered off their special menu for Valentine's Day. The service was prompt, the drinks were good and the ribeye steaks were cooked to perfection. My spouse basically licked his plate clean. The only thing that stopped me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of a fish dish on the menu that is not fried or breaded otherwise the simplified menu works for me.

This place has got some momentum going!! Great people working there and they are putting out some great tasting food. I have been there for their fish fry which is amazing, the prime rib special on Saturday night is outstanding, and their version of the Moscow mule is a can't miss. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us this summer, keep up the great work guys!

All I can say for a limited menu the food should be awesoe - Well it was terrible - Fish and Chips should have been called drowning in oil in the basket with no taste - We will never go back here - With so many other choices in town I say let a good resturant take over this location - NEVER AGAIN - Sorry good service terrible food.

Went to Dock Hoppers with three friends for lunch. The weather wasn't so great so no big crowd. Our waitress could not have been more pleasant and very attentive. One friend and I could not decide between a burger and the "perchwich" sandwich. We opted to each order one and told the waitress our intent to have half of each. When the food came out, one half of the burger and one half of the "perchwich" was on each plate. They were both delicious. When I go back, and I will, I am going to get my own whole "perchwich". The other ladies also liked their food. We hope this place gets more customers because we would like to see them do well. What a great location for boaters and a fantastic view!

We went to Dock Hoppers with friends. We sat in the bar area and it took 25 minutes to get our drinks. We got our appetizers before our drinks. The appetizers were very good but the service was way too slow. There were 2 bartenders, the lady seemed to be just getting the drinks from the waitresses and the gentleman seemed to be doing little to nothing. Also wish you could get more than just appetizers in the bar, a burger would be nice. The bar area has such an awesome atmosphere. We will try it again and hopefully the service will be better.
